What are the Levels of Decontamination Service?

Different clients need different levels of cleaning and decontamination. There are three primary interventions we carry out for customers:

  • Deep Cleaning – physical removal of contaminants including dust, soil and organic matter, along with a large proportion of micro-organisms. (Drying will cause a further reduction). This Process is essential prior to disinfection and sterilisation
  • Disinfection – disinfection is effective against most pathogens, including many in healthcare settings which are resistant to antibiotics. For example, it is effective on Staphylococcus, fungi and hepatitis B and hepatitis C. Disinfection helps to reduce the number of viable micro- organisms to a level which is not harmful to health.
  • Sterilisation – Renders the environment free from viable micro-organisms, including bacterial spores and viruses

‘Back to Work’ Decontamination

  • Disinfection of all visible and accessible areas with industry leading decontamination equipment– this is the quickest solution and the cheapest, and also gives a fast turnaround meaning staff can return to work quicker. However, it is not as thorough as a deep clean. This is particularly recommended for large workplace premises.
  • A manual deep clean of all areas from top to bottom including disinfecting touch points by hand – this is the most thorough method but is also the most time consuming and is not always practical for large areas.
  • A combination of our specialist deep cleaning service and disinfection – this is the method that we would recommend for most workplace premises as it is quick and practical.

We are still learning about this new coronavirus (COVID-19), but it is likely that one way it spreads is through contaminated surfaces. Frequently cleaning surfaces should help.
